Srinagar

Srinagar is capital city of the state Jammu and Kashmir. Located on the banks of the river Jhilam, the city is famous for its beautiful lakes, houseboats and numerous gardens. It is called ‘Venice of east’. Srinagar is also known for wooden boats, Shikara, which are found on the banks of the lake. If you don’t ride Shikara in Dal Lake, your Srinagar tour is meaningless. Dachigam Sanctuary is another popular tourist attraction in Srinagar.
The weather is very comfortable and enjoyable in the summer season where the winters are freezing with heavy snowfall.
