Joshimath

Joshimath city is a city, also known as Jyotirmath (1890 mtr from sea level). And it is the place where god Badri is brought in winter and kept in Basudeb temple. The city is revered by Hindus as an important pilgrimage destination in the country. Adi Shankaracharya created four maths, Joshimath is one of those.
The longest ropeway or ropeway in Asia, ‘Gondola’ gives a beautiful ride from Auli to Joshimath. Joshimath gets heavy snowfall during the winter season. The ideal time to visit Joshimath is from April to November.
