Beaches in Kerala are a symbol of calmness and peace. With white sand, coral reefs and tranquil blue waters, these beaches offer a wonderful experience. Kerala state is a centre point between the Arabian Sea and the western ghats and provides you with a great view. Some of the best beaches in Kerala are Kovalam Beach in Thiruvananthapuram, Marari Beach in Mararikulam, Varkala Beach in Varkala and Alappuzha Beach in Alappuzha.

Some of the best waterfalls in Kerala are Athirappilly Falls (82 ft) where activities like jungle safari, rafting, camping, bird watching and trekking are done. Some of the other waterfalls in Kerala are Meenmutty Falls in Ponmudi (984 ft), Soochipara Waterfalls (656 ft), Palaruvi Falls (299 ft) and Adyanpara Falls (350 ft). Most of the Kerala falls are surrounded by abundant greenery and deliver a scenic view.

Kerala cuisine is all about the rich combination of vegetables, meats and seafood flavoured with a variety of spices. Dominance of rice, coconut, seafood and variety of non-vegetarian dishes and the lavish and also use of spices like Pepper, Cardamom, Cloves, Ginger and chillies that add to the taste and flavour of Kerala’s traditional food is easily noticed.

Kerala’s food is so diverse and distinct from the rest of the country because of the invades of many foreing countries like Romans, Greeks, Dutch, Portuguese. There are a lot of differences could be noticed in the style and the taste of north and south Kerala foods- the menu has huge verities such as Mappila biryani, Sadya and brilliant non-vegetarian dishes, you are sure to find something new every day! Kerala is a paradise for seafood lovers and specialy for seafood  lovers, from an array of prawns, lobsters, rockfish and squid among the others, the place won’t disappoint you. The Sadya is a substantial feast served on a banana leaf and consists of 24-28 dishes in a single meal. Onam Sadyas are something you should try if you’re in Kerala. Other favourite dishes include Avial, Kozhikodan Halwa, Appam-stew combo, Kappa, Puttu-Meen curry and Paal Payasam.

Best Time to visit

As summers (March to May) make the state too hot and monsoons (June – August) can provide heavy rain thats why September to February is the best time to visit Kerala when it is relatively cooler.
