Itinerary Details
1st Day – Journey starts from Kolkata by Train.
2nd Day – Morning after arrival at NJP going towards PELLING ( Part of West Sikkim), night – stay at Pelling. ( NJP to Pelling 05hrs. approx) .
3rd Day – Full – day sight-seeing at Pelling. Night – stay at Pelling.
Places of visit –
A) Pemayangtse Gumpa – 5kms from Pelling and standing at 2085m. The perfect sublime Lotus, perched on a wooded hilltop, commands the most sublime view of the Mt. Khangchendzonga. Built during the late 17century, it is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim.
B) Khecheopalri Lake – Past the ruins of ancient towns below monasteries tended by red-robed lamas lie the crystalline, wish-fulfilling waters of Khecheopalri Lake.
C) Shingshore Suspension Bridge – It is the second-highest bridge in Asia.
D) Khangchendzonga Falls, E) Rimbi falls, F) Rock Garden, G) Tsangey Falls.
4th Day- Morning after break-fast going towards Ravangla ( South – Sikkim, 6800 ft) via sightseeing NAMCHI, SIDDHI BINAYAK TEMPLE, GOLDEN BUDDHA PARK & TEMI TEA GARDEN ( only tea Garden in Sikkim). Night-stay at Ravangla.
5th Day – Morning Ravangla to Gangtok ( 03hrs. 5500ft ). night-stay at Gangtok.
6th Day – Morning visit TSANGU LAKE ( 12,400ft ), which freezes over in winter. ( The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains. Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the Lake’s waters.) and Baba Harbajan Singh Memorial Temple.
7th Day – Morning after breakfast (11 am) going towards LACHEN (9500 ft).Lachen is one of the most picturesque hamlets of Sikkim. Night-stay at LACHEN.
8th Day – Early morning (06 am.) going to visit GURU DONGMAR ( 17,100 ft) Lake a sacred lake, the waters are believed to possess the miraculous powers of granting issues to barren couples. After visit back to Lachen & after Lunch journey towards LACHUNG & Night-stay at LACHUNG.
Lachung ( North – Sikkim) — height 8610 ft. It has been described as the‘most picturesque village of Sikkim ‘ by Joseph Dalton in his ‘ Himalayan Journal ‘ ( 1855).
9th Day – Early morning (06 am.) visit YUMTHANG valley ( 11,800ft) is where the tree line ends and the rhododendron groves cover the landscape in a surreal shade. Also called the valley of flowers as in spring wild alpine flowers carpet the Land. After sight-seeing back to Gangtok.
10th Day – Drop at NJP Rly Station for the return journey by Train.
11th Day – Kolkata.
